First milestone on new song has been reached.

This second song has been driving me insane for the past week, but five guitar tracks and a million and one outtakes on the drums, I finally have the instrumental completed.

Now to write lyrics and find the appropriate vocal melody. I am pretty excited about this one, has a lot more energy than Cold Comfort.

No name yet, but that’ll come with the lyrics. If anyone is interested in hearing the instrumental, let me know. I’ll post it up on Bandcamp is there is sufficient interest—sufficient interest being one or two people.

Best,

Saul

My day’s banes: The sun and drums

Motherfucking sun was so heavy in southern California today that I was crippled. NOTHING GOT DONE TODAY.

Yesterday, however, I imagined to complete 5 different guitar tracks for the next song on my undefined list. I thought I could have the drums done by around 11 PM, but that didn’t happen. Not even close. Got a lot of cardio in though…

This next song is taking longer than expected, nonetheless, it will eventually happen. Definitely by the end of next week. I’ll keep posting updates as they come along.

Stay golden people,

Saul

Recording guitar today. I just tried plugging straight into the interface, but that didn’t work out as well as I’d have liked it to. I am going to try to get a stereo recording with my microphones.
This second song is a bit lengthier. I am pretty sure I can get the guitar parts down by today or tomorrow.I’m going to try to make this recording sound better than the last :)
By the way, that’s my drumset (^_^) I’m still skeptical about it, but it has been performing just as expected.
Wish me luck, folks!

Please check out my boyfriend, Saul’s first recorded song, “Cold Comfort”, uploaded on BandCamp and free to download (or choose your own price if you wish to!).
This is his first time recording his own stuff and he did the vocals and played every instrument on the track. I am quite proud of him!

A new purpose for my antiquated Tumblr

I wanted to get into Tumblr, but I didn’t have much to say nor did I follow any other cool blogs, which led to me abandoning my blog and its 2-3 post before this one. I am honestly surprised that I was able to guess the right combination of e-mail and password to this dusty old thing.

Today, however, I received a vision from my brain to my thoughts that said, “Hey, you should use your tumblr to document the recording process of your songs and to let out the songs once they are complete.”

So that’s what I am going to do. And today I finished recording/producing my first song, Cold Comfort, on my own. I will be playing every instrument you will hear on every recording unless otherwise noted. Cold Comfort features my Martin acoustic clean, with chorus, and with delay. I sing a few lines here and there and there is some drumming happening at the end of the track.

I was having a hard time uploading the song in a cool way so here it is in this lame hyperlink

Hope someone out there enjoys this. I had a lot of fun making it. I am already starting up on my next song. It doesn’t have a name yet, but it will soon! I hope to have it finished by the end of the week.

Best,

Saul
